Carol Schmidt, age 73 of St. Peter died on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at her home.
A sharing of memories will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and will continue at 10:00 am on Wednesday.
Carol was born on June 13, 1937 in St. Peter MN to Clifford and Thelma (McDowell) Fischer. She is a 1955 graduate of St. Peter High School. On November 10, 1957 she was united in marriage to Donald E. Schmidt at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Carol worked in dietary at the State Hospital in St. Peter for 29 years before retiring. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and sports " especially the Vikings.
She is survived by her children: Wendy (Andy) Mostyn of Gilbert MN, Connie Schmidt (special friend Todd) of St. Peter, Steve (Renee) of St. Peter, Vicki Jo Babb of Albert Lea, Mike (Kim) of St. Peter and Greg (Dayna) of Mankato; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Gail (Gary) Triemert of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1996, and brothers Gary and Clem Fischer.
