Walter F. Mutch, age 84 of St. Peter died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with pastor David Nauman officiating. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 7:00 pm on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Walter was born on January 8, 1926 in Lake Prairie Township to Charles and Mabel (Parks) Mutch. He attended country school in Lake Prairie Township. He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On September 8, 1968 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Kramer. They made their home in St. Peter where Walter was employed by the city works department for 25 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 508. He loved farming and helped many farmers on a part time basis.
Walter is survived by his wife, Gerri of St. Peter; children: Steven Kramer of Mankato, Richard (Miriam) Kramer of Chicago, Michael (Yon Cha) Kramer of Aurora CO, Cheryle Emerson of Kasota, Lorrie Zacharias of Prior Lake and Susan (Bob) Allen of Kasota; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; sisters: Marjorie (Allen) Mollenhauer and Shirley Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, mother"in-law Dorothy Hays; daughters: Nancy Schwichtenberg, infant Linda Sue Mutch and Kathy Andresen;; and siblings: Bob, Gordon, Lora Homer, and Loretta Mithuen.
