Carroll L. Hermanson, 88 of rural Nicollet entered into his heavenly home on November 30, 2010. To honor and celebrate his life a visitation will be on Friday, December 3 from 4-7 pm at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church and services will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 10 am at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church. A private family burial service will precede the service. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carroll Loren Hermanson was born on September 14, 1922. His parents were George and Stella (Hanson) Hermanson. He was born on the Hermanson farm in rural Nicollet County. His entire life of 88 years was spent on the family farm.

Carroll was baptized at the Norwegian Lutheran Church and confirmed at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, rural St. Peter. He attended District 46 School and then the Agriculture School in St. Paul for a short time. He then returned home to help on the family farm. Farming was an occupation that brought him much joy and he pursued it with excellence and passion.

He faithfully served his community and church through various organizations. He served as treasurer of the New Sweden Creamery for many years, and he was a

4-H leader. He served in many capacities in the church, including church council, financial secretary and choir member. He sang many solos at services at the church and in the community. Carroll also enjoyed singing with the Sibley County Choral for many years.

On August 17, 1949 he was united in marriage to Elaine Youngblom. They resided on the family farm where they raised their family of 6 children. Carroll lived a life of faithfulness which was a powerful witness to his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 61 years Elaine and their six children: Sandra (Stephen) Anenson, Story City, Iowa, David (Vicki) Hermanson, Donald (Rhonda) Hermanson both of rural Nicollet, Minnesota, Sharon (Matthew) Amdahl, Flandreau, South Dakota, Denise (Michael) Jones, Anacortes, Washington and Scott Hermanson, St. Peter, Minnesota.

He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; Nathan Anenson, Jonathan (Tiffany) Anenson; Michael (Alie) Hermanson, Michelle Hermanson, Gwendolyn (Greg) Schaefer, Hannah Hermanson, Andrew (Elizabeth) Hermanson, Emily (Chris) Hubers, Eric (Lacy) Amdahl, Erin (Thomas) Heylens, Ellen Amdahl, Ethan Amdahl, Elliot Amdahl, Bryan (Renee) Jones, Quentin Jones, Tyler Jones, Amy Jones and Ramsey Jones. He also enjoyed his seven great-grandchildren, Zachary and Ryan Hermanson, Mackenzie and Marshall Hubers, Wesley and Charlie Heylens and Oliver Jones. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Pat Hermanson of Portland, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, an infant grandson Micah. His two brothers, Lt. Col. Gordon L. C. Hermanson and his wife Carolyn and Robert C. Hermanson also preceded him in death.

We celebrate and give thanks for Carroll's life and pray that his memory will be blessed.
