David H. Lurth, 59 of rural Kasota passed from this life on February 12, 2011, at The Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter, MN due to complications of mantle cell lymphoma. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 16th at St. Peter Funeral Home - Klein Chapel.

Dave was born on February 6, 1952, to Mel and Luella (Stockton) Lurth in St. Peter, MN. He graduated from St. Peter High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. Dave married Linda Johnson Wedge on August 19, 1978. They lived on the farm that belonged to Daves grandma, Stella Lurth, in Kasota Township. Dave worked for Komatz Construction, Erickson Oil and since 1994 has been employed by Pell Insurance and Real Estate in St. Peter.

There were many things that Dave loved; the Lord, his family, his friends, his farm and his four-legged boys, Pudder and Scud. He preferred to spend his time outdoors, either hunting birds, golfing or fishing in the sunshine. Dave will be remembered by his family and friends for his friendly smile, good humor, integrity and as a real guys guy.

Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters: Annie Lurth of Washington, DC and Jill Kozitza of Ashland, WI; and son, Corey Wedge (Nikki) of St. Bonifacious, MN; grandchildren: Alex, Katie and Joey Kozitza and Coleden and Chasey Wedge. Sisters: Mary Jane Splett of Waterville, MN and Linda Frost (David) of Phoenix, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by many dear friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother Buzz, sister Marge and brother-in-law Leo Splett.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the donors choice of conservation organization or cancer research.
