Bernice A. Trimbo, age 79 of St. Peter, died Thursday, March 03, 2011 at the Benedictine Living Community.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at the Church of St. Peter with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.
Bernice Anna was born March 6, 1931 to Joseph and Mary (Dusza) Rathai in Wells, Minnesota. In February of 1955, she was united in marriage to George Trimbo and later divorced. Bernice retired from the Mankato Corporation in 1995 after 25 years. Then, she volunteered at the Church of St. Peter Thrift Store and later managed the Sunnyvale Court Apartments. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and traveling with family. Bernice was dedicated to her family especially supporting her grandchildren at sporting events.
Bernice is survived by her children: JoAnn Evenson, Bill Trimbo, Ronald (Laura) Trimbo, Chuck (Janet) Trimbo and Dawn (Patrick) Murphy; grandchildren: David Evenson, Paula Menk, Tyler Trimbo, Nicole Trimbo, Maria Carruthers, and Michael Murphy; great-grandchild, Aubrie Carruthers; 3 siblings: Marie Steppel, Angeline (Francis) Schultz and Lawrence (Evelyn) Rathai; sisters-in-law: Laverda Rathai and Beth Evans and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter of her son, Bill, Katie Gatzke; 2 sisters: Clara and Audry; 3 brothers: Louis, Dominic and Eugene Rathai; and brother-in-law: Leslie Steppel.
