Glenn Gunderson, age 85 of St. Peter, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland with Rev. Jerry Lanes officiating. Burial will be in Scandian Grove Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Scandian Grove Lutheran Church.
Glenn was born August 1, 1925 to Leonard and Lillian (Gjerde) Gunderson in St. Peter. Glenn farmed in New Sweden Township until 1975. He was a Norseland 4-H leader for many years. After retiring from farming, he worked for Cargill Seed until 1987. Glenn was married to Geraldine "Gerry" Purrier in 1951. They had three children: Dianne, Cheryl, and Brian. Gerry passed away in 1979. Glenn met Evelyn Maas and they were married in 1981.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Dianne (Don) Marth, Cheryl (Tom) Ziegler, and son, Brian (Mary) Gunderson; 2 step-children, Doug (Diane) Maas and Sharon Wilde; sisters, Lorraine Struck and Isabelle Sellner; 6 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gerry; brother, Irvin; and brothers-in-law, Elmer Struck and Eugene Sellner.
