Donna Mae Martinson, age 89 of St. Peter died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Benedictine Living community in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Charles Christensen officiating. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donna was born on May 14, 1921 in Ida Grove, IA to Robert and Anna (Mullens) Storrs. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter where she was a choir member. She was also a member of the Gustavus Adolphus College Library Associates. Donna enjoyed tap dancing in her younger years; and later knitting, crocheting and flower gardens. She especially enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands: Murl Messerli, Dr. E G Olmanson and Dayton Martinson: a son, David Messerli and a sister, Arlene Asplund.
Donna is survived by her children: Pat (Tom) McMullen and Bob (LuAnn) Messerli; grandchildren: Todd, David, and Laura Martens, Bob, Michael, Ben (Erica) and Lyssa Messerli, Byron, Nicholas and Alex Messerli, Angela (Chris) Klein, Becca (Keith) Hedrick, Gayle (Jeff) Smith and Luke and Zach Martinson; five great grandchildren; Dr. E G Olmanson's children; Dayton's son David (Laurie) Martinson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Wild's of Sand Prairie and Benedictine Living Community for the excellent and loving care they gave to Donna.
