Elaine Olson

Elaine Olson, age 77 of rural St. Peter, died on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Norseland Lutheran Church in Norseland with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, November 5th at St. Peter Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Elaine Gladys was born on September 13, 1935 in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County to Eddie and Olga (Anderson) Redning. She was a lifelong member of Norseland Lutheran Church, being baptized and confirmed there. On May 29, 1954 she was united in marriage to Mahlon S. Olson at Norseland Lutheran. Mahlon died in 1975. She worked for 35 years at Minnegasco, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Mankato Area Solo Parents Club and loved family, traveling with friends, and dancing.

Elaine is survived by sons: Randy ( Sue) of Circle Pines, Casey (Lynne) of New Hope and Corey of rural St. Peter; grandchildren: Travis, Steven, Kim Lambson, Jeremy Waugh, Jared, Kendall, Shayla and Anthony; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Janice Walker and Joyce Olson; brothers-in-law: Clair (Pearl) Olson and Willis (Alice) Olson and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon, daughter: Brenda Waugh; five brothers-in-law. She was followed into heaven by a great granddaughter, Ariella Grace Olson.
