Willis John "Bud" Gesch, age 89 of St. Peter, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter with Rev. Eric Natwick and Rev. Dan Buendorf officiating. Burial will be in German Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
Bud was born May 26, 1923 to John and Anna (Pauli) Gesch in Le Sueur County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in German Lake. Bud graduated from Cleveland High School in 1941. On May 21, 1983, Bud was united in marriage to Deloris Pufpaff at the German Lake Church. He retired from farming in 1985. Bud and Deloris moved to St. Peter in 1988. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of German Lake, The German Lake Cemetery Association and Trinity Lutheran Church. Bud's hobbies were hunting and fishing. Most of all, Bud enjoyed spending time with his wife of almost 30 years, Deloris.
Bud is survived by his wife Deloris; Deloris son, DJ Smetana; seven nieces and nephews: Denny (Mel) Davis, Bonnie Davis, Lowell (Nancy) Davis; Deanna Dunphy, Vicki (Cheryl Swanum) Davis, Cindy (Kathy Peter) Davis and Carol (Steve) Robb; great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Leona Davis; and nephew, Charlie Davis.
