Warren Gail Forsythe passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the age of 92 in St. Peter.

Warren was born on March 19, 1921 in Sac City, Iowa to parents Donald B. and Mildred L. Forsythe and had two brothers and two sisters. Ted, Leland and Jaunita preceded Warren in death; Wanda lives in Marcell, MN.

He graduated from Sac City High School and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Warren served in the South Pacific, Philippine Islands during World War II as a US Army T/4 Sergeant; he was a prisoner of war and an escaped prisoner of war.

After an honorable discharge on December 31, 1945, he worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in St. Paul.

He married Alvina B. Gullickson on January 28, 1951 in Deer River, MN.

Warren and Alvina have two children: Jerry lives in Clover, SC; and Dennis in Arlington, MN.

Warren worked in the Calumet, MN Iron mine from 1952 to 1957, before moving with his family to St. Peter, MN where he was employed at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center from 1958 until his retirement in 1984.

After retirement, Warren volunteered for over 20 years at the St. Peter Food Shelf for which he received both local and state recognition on several occasions. He was also a regular at the Nicollet County Fair at the ticket gates.

Warren was an avid stamp collector and card player, and enjoyed camping with family and friends. He also had many years of delight with his three grandchildren: Jennifer of Clover SC, Jonathan of York, SC and Andrew of Manassas, VA; and most recently, his four great-grandchildren: Tristan, Samuel, Allissa and Lily.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
