Virgil Maynard Pioske, age 68 of St. Peter, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Grandview Good Samaritan in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Eric Natwick officiating. Burial will be at St. John's (Mountville) Lutheran Cemetery, in rural Gaylord, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Virgil was born on March 14, 1939 in LeSueur County to Kenneth Pioske and Myrtle (Hahn) (Pioske) Rudenick. A few years later, the family moved to Pine County, where Virgil graduated from Sandstone High School in 1958. He then received vocational training for auto mechanics in Pine City. In February of 1964 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Langenbach for about 11 years until their divorce. Virgil was a worker for General Electric for a number of years. He then moved to Minneapolis where he worked various jobs as a handyman. Around 1994, due to his declining health, Virgil moved to St. Peter, MN to be closer to his family. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Virgil enjoyed working on cars and fixing various electronic devices.
He is survived by former wife Kathleen Pioske of Spring Lake Park, MN, three children, Gregg Pioske of Hudson, WI, Shawn Pioske of Hudson, WI, and Karri (Matthew) Linke of Lino Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Devin Hamilton, Austin Schollen, and Jordis Linke; brother, Larry Pioske of Williams, MN; sister Diana Pioske Wells of Bellingham, WA; two half brothers, Jimmy Pioske and Ed Pioske, both of LeSueur, MN; and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Paul; daughter, Tammy; grandsons, Jeremiah and Kaden.
