Karen L. (Westphal) Rybus (age 64) passed away Tuesday; January 8th of cancer at her home in Kasota.
Funeral service is 2:30 PM Saturday; January 12, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Kasota, interment in Kasota Hill Cemetery. Visitation on Friday from 4 till 7 PM at St. Peter Funeral Home. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Karen was born December 13, 1943 in Mankato to Warren and Hazel (Harris) Westphal. She was a 1962 graduate of St. Peter High School and a lifelong resident of Kasota. On November 17, 1962 she married Joseph S. Rybus in Kasota. Karen retired from Daniels Medical Clinic in St. Peter on January 2, 2008. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kasota and a former Kasota Hill Cemetery board member.
Survived by: husband, Joseph S. Rybus; daughters and their families; Brenda (Timothy) Dent and their children Joe Dent, Jason and Rochelle Dent and Chase Dent of Branson,. MO; Wendy (Ronald) Weingartz and their children Daniel Weingartz and Andrew Weingartz of Mankato, MN; Cindy (Jamie) Putz and their children Anthony Putz, Emily Putz and Isabel Putz of Kasota, MN. Her siblings: Bonnie (Earl) Rients of Kasota; Jean (Don) Kuhl of Cleveland; Roger "Butch' Westphal of Eagle Lake; Earl (Margaret) Westphal of North Mankato; Dawn (Lyle) Orth of Lidgerwood, ND; David (Helen) Westphal of Owatonna; Henry (Evett) Westphal of Hudson, WI; Tim (Jo) Westphal of Cleveland; Ev (Randy) Culbert of Henderson, MN; Doug Westphal and Deb Getman of Prior Lake, MN; Linda (Westphal) Wilson of San Diego, CA. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; Warren and Hazel (Harris) Westphal and Stanley and Florence (Day) Rybus. She was also preceded in death by one grandson.
