Paul William Anderson, age 82 of St. Peter, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Alan Bray officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of the service at church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Peter. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Paul was born on March 6, 1925 in Kasota to William and Pauline (Newgard) Anderson. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after more than 25 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed antiques, collecting coins and coin shows, and collecting Custer glass.
Paul is survived by his sister Dolores Pierce of Brooklyn Park; niece Nancy Pierce of Maple Grove; nephews: Jim Pierce of Cottage Grove, Ron (Julie) Pierce of Anoka, and Garry (Edie) Pierce of Coon Rapids; cousins: Elizabeth Klein of Kasota and Dennis Nygard of St. Peter; long time friend Peggy Schwichtenberg of St. Peter; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
