Glorene M. Phillips, age 85 of St. Peter, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the St. Peter Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Kasota Presbyterian Church in Kasota with Pastor Chris Conlon officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. Burial will take place in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Glorene was born on May 19, 1922 in Minneapolis to Harry and Blanche (Pearson) Miller. The family moved to Kasota when she was 3. She was school in Kasota, graduating from Kasota High School in 1940. She then graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester and worked at the St. Peter Community Hospital for several years. She married Quentin Phillips on February 18, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Glorene was an active member of the Kasota Presbyterian Church.
Glorene is survived by her children: Shannon Phillips, Polly Phillips-Sanborn and her husband Allen Sanborn, and Tim Phillips and his wife Rhonda; grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholis and Nathan Phillips; sister Vivian Keller; sister-in-law Jeane Oslund; extended family: Joel Hedlund and his wife Mara Coyle and their sons, William Creedon, and Anita Tollefson and her husband Jim; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Quentin in 1995.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Kasota Presbyterian Church.
