Marcella Ann Juberien-Burg, age 88 of St. Peter, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Church of St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery of St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the start of the service at church with the Rosary at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Church of St. Peter or an organization of the donors' choice. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marcella was born on January 13, 1920 in Jordan MN to Matthew and Mary (Geis) Wolf. She is a graduate of McKinley High School in Le Center, and of Commercial College in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Robert Juberien on June 17, 1944 in St. Peter. He passed away on February 24, 1985. She later married Gerald R. Burg on November 26, 1988. She lived in the Oshawa Township most of her life, until moving to St. Peter in 1997. She worked as a secretary for Honeywell in Minneapolis, Larson Industries and Cargill of St. Peter and was a housewife, mother and grandmother.
Marcie cherished her children and their families, and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She was an avid Bridge player, and belonged to two Bridge groups for 50 years. She also loved shopping with her daughters, going to dances and traveling with her husband Jerry. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and the Catholic Daughters of the America's for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Burg; 3 daughters: Sharon (John) Allen, Mary Kay (Paul) Pederson, and Barbara (Wayne) Lynn; 10 grandchildren: Kimberly (Curt) Rice, Amy (Tom) Frey, Craig (Carie) Allen, Gretchen Pederson, Jennifer (Dan) Raleigh, Rachel (Bryan) Steele, Steven Pederson, Anna (Chris) Wothe, Robert (Megan) Lynn and Amber (Matt) Hohl; 10 great grandchildren: Brianna and Bradley Rice, Abby and Katie Frey, Savannah and August Allen, Lucy and Fiona Raleigh, and Josie and Wyatt Steele; an expected great grandchild in June; 2 sisters: Irene Jerrow of North Mankato and Verna Lindberg of St. Peter; sisters-in-law Pearl Wolf of Le Center and Ev Wolf of North Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived be 2 step-children: Karen Willson and Tom Burg and their families.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Juberien in 1985; her parents; sister Sandy Steinbach; brothers: Walter and Elmer Wolf; and step-son Terry Burg.
