Dorothy Mae McCabe, age 84 of St. Peter, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Church of St. Peter with Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday at the church.
Dorothy was born on April 28, 1923 to Peter and Alma (Boerger) Morson in Donnelly, MN. She grew up in Nicollet, graduating as Salutatorian from Nicollet High School in 1941. In June of 1946 she was united in marriage to Cyril McCabe at St. Peter Catholic Church. She worked for Nicollet County where she was the Register of Deeds before working at South Central Technical College in the bookstore up to her retirement. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and enjoyed boating, shopping, especially for shoes, and traveling with her family.
She is survived by daughter, Rita (John) Miller; son, Leo McCabe; two grand daughters, Michele and Nikki; sister, Dallas Winkler; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children, Mark, Michael, and an infant son; two brothers, Harvey and Bud; and one sister, Irene.
