Joseph George "Joe" Klocow, age 67 of St. Peter, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Church of St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the Church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joe was born on September 27, 1940 to George and Mary (Weber) Klocow in St. Peter. He attended school in LeSueur and St. Peter and was a 1958 graduate of St. Peter High School. He attended vocational school in Mankato and after attaining his degree worked as a machinist. He was employed by Donelen Manufacturing, now Onan, and in 1963 moved to California. While in California he was employed by North American Aviation and also raced motorcycles professionally at Ascot Park and numerous other race tracks. Following racing, he moved to the California Mountains and had a horse ranch. Joe enjoyed racing motorcycles, dominos, and trips to the OK Corral and will be remembered as a jokester with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his father, George Klocow of St. Peter; two children, Brenda and David of California; four siblings, Ed (Kathy) Klocow of Whitefish, MT, Beth (Bob) Frauhenholtz of Wahkon; Meredith Wills of St. Peter, and Bill (Rita) Klocow of Kasota; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mary in 1996.
