Laura Betty (Stewert) Heilman, age 75 of St. Peter, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2008 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Rauh officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Laura was born on January 29, 1933 in Santa Monica, CA to Sam and Ida (Gains) Stewert. She graduated from Mark Capple High School in El Hambra. She married Rollin Heilman in Las Vegas, NV on July 4, 1952. She was a stay at home loving mother and wife. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling, old movies, crafts, bingo, and cards with her friends at the "Wilds". She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Dawn) Heilman, and Wilma (Scott) Travaille; 12 granchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, including her childhood and best friend, Barbara.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollin; and a son, James.
