Vila B. Burns
Vila Bertha Burns, age 82 of St. Peter, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Church of the Nativity in Cleveland with Rev. Edwin Savundra officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Scotch Lake. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at St. Peter Funeral Home- Klein Chapel with a 6:30 Rosary. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Vila was born on October 28, 1925 to Herman and Thelma (Fischer) Schwichtenberg in St. Peter. She was raised in St. Peter and was united in marriage to Richard Burns. The couple farmed outside of Cleveland. Vila was a homemaker for her family and then worked at ADC Communications where she retired after 30 plus years. She was a member of the Church of Nativity in Cleveland. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping at thrift stores and garage sales, eating pizza, and collecting jewelry.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Noble; son, Thomas (Joyce) Burns; grandchildren, Laddie Noble, Nicole (Scott) VanOverbeke, and Katie Noble and special friend Sam Straub; many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sisters, Muriel, Sandra, Norma and Iris; brother, Herman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; grandson, Chad; sisters, Olean, Lois, Audrey, and Elaine; and brothers, Morris and Clyde.
