Marian B. Lambert, age 96 of St. Peter, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Grandview Good Samaritan in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Church of St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Mrs. Lambert was born on December 26, 1911 in Minneapolis to Orlo and Maud (Smith) Bartholomew. She went to Douglas and Jefferson schools and graduated in June of 1929 from West High School all in Minneapolis. She went to the University of Minnesota where she was active in Beta Phi Alpha sorority which is now Delta Zeta, the Trailer Club and the Women's Athletic Association. She graduated in 1933 with a B.S. in education. She taught in Lake Wales, FL, Glenwood, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, and Lake Forest, IL, before her marriage to George P Lambert in 1942 in Excelsior, MN. She lived her married life on a farm west of St. Peter. She taught for 11 years from 1961-1972 at St. Peter High School. After retirement, she and her husband spent their winters in Lake Wales, FL.
She was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Questers, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Nicollet County Historical Society. She was also the first regent of the Catholic Daughters of St. Peter.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Rita) Lambert of Morris; daughters, Margaret Lambert of Winona, Kathleen Lind of Apple Valley, Jane Lambert of San Jose, CA, and Mary Ann (Richard) Troness of Dellwood; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Cheryl) Lind, Melissa (David) Downs, Beth and Laura Lambert, Adam, Matthew, Benjamin, and Michael Troness; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Isabelle Lind, and Alyssa and Logan Downs.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March of 1983; daughter-in-law, Marsha Lambert; and son-in-law, Henry Lind.
