Theodora "Teddy" Kurseth, age 90 of St. Peter, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Grandview Good Samaritan in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Charles Degner officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grandview Good Samaritan Society, Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospice, or St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Teddy was born on December 14, 1917 in St. Peter to Rev. and Mrs. G. Theo Albrecht. She graduated from St. Peter High School and Mankato Normal College. She was a school teacher in Alma City and in a one room school house in District 68 near Lake Washington. She married Paul Gritzmacher in Sauk Centre, MN and he later died in a German P.O.W. camp during the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. She returned to St. Peter and married Clifford Kurseth on July 27, 1947. Teddy was a cook for the lunch program at Central School in the mid 1960's. She then worked at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter as a switchboard operator until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Jon Kurseth of Pinckney, MI; grandchildren, Matthew of Dearborn, MI and Karen of Pinckney, MI; brother, Lyle ( Alta) Albrecht of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Clifford in 2003; brother, Courtney in 1994; sisters, Verona in 2006 and Carmen in infancy.
