Jerome Richard "Jerry" Regenscheid, age 61, of rural St. Peter, died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Church of St. Peter with Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 with a 7:30 prayer service at church and will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. St. Peter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jerome was born April 12, 1947 to Lawrence and Mary (Douglas) Regenscheid in Mankato. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1965. After high school he attended Mankato Commercial College. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves during the late 1960's. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Korell on July 15, 1972 in Minneapolis. Jerry farmed all his life and built and remodeled homes. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter and an active member and past officer of the Knights of Columbus. He was also involved in the Soil and Water Conservation Board, Men's Polka Choir, past member of the Govenaires. He enjoyed planning projects, staying busy, woodworking, Friday nights at the Red Man Club and spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy of rural St. Peter; three children, Krista (Jeremiah) Fromm of Savage, Tracy (Edward) Warn of Minneapolis, Andrew Regenscheid of Rockville, MD; siblings, Mary (John) Murphy of Belle Plaine, Rita Flanagan of Mankato, Barb (Dennis) Huebsch of Good Thunder, Marlene (Bill) Schmidt of Burnsville; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
