Milton Earl Teske Sr., 91, died Sunday July 6th at his home in St. Peter.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, Minnesota. Visitation is at 10:00 A.M.
Milton was born January 30, 1917, in Sioux City, Iowa to William and Agnes (Giem) Teske. He graduated from Sioux City High School in 1935 and from Sioux City Business Training School in 1936. Milton and Constance Pauline Leckband were married in Sioux City June 17, 1941. He served in the US Army in World War II, from 1942-1945. He achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant and was stationed in Florida and Massachusetts. He was employed as an Office Manager for the Omaha Harwood Lumber Company in Sioux City for 29 years, then as a floor covering salesman for Woolco Department Store for 13 years. He was a founding member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Sioux City and a volunteer church worker for 25 years.
During the early years of radio, Milt enjoyed building crystal sets and a tube radio. Other interests were woodworking; including building furniture, gardening and collecting jokes which he enjoyed sharing with others.
In December of 1992, Connie entered a nursing home in St. Peter; Milt moved to St. Peter in June of 1993. He was a devoted and faithful caretaker to Connie.
Milt is survived by one daughter and her husband, Janice and Robert Meyer of St. Peter and three sons and their wives, Dr. Milton, Jr. and Nancy of Crosswicks, New Jersey, Drs. Douglas and Ann of Columbus Ohio, and Kenneth and Barbara of Tucson, Arizona; eleven grandchildren including Kate Meyer of St. Peter and Rob Meyer of Rochester, MN; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Darrel Teske of Kansa City, Missouri; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998 and two infant brothers.
