Evelyn Sexe, age 87, of Cleveland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Church of Nativity, Cleveland with Rev. Edwin Savundra officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Church of Nativity with a 3:30 p.m. Catholic Daughter Rosary. Visitation will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday.St. Peter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross Blood Bank.
Evelyn was born July 3, 1921 to Alois and Theresa (Ballman) Bauer in Cleveland Township, LeSueur County, MN. She attended school at District #47, LeSueur County and graduated from Cleveland High School. She was united in marriage to Albert Sexe on September 10, 1941 at the Church of Nativity in Cleveland. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, knitting, reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Susan K. (Fred) Roufs of North Mankato, Mary T. Sexe (Dave Hage) of St. Paul; ten sons, James A. (Carole) Sexe of Prior Lake, Thomas D. (Beverly) Sexe of Elko, David A. (Sharon) Sexe of Cleveland, Terrence A. (Linda) Sexe of Orange Park, FL, William J. (LeAnn) Sexe of LeCenter, Michael J. (Gail) Sexe of Lindstrom, Patrick C. (Lee) Sexe of Belle Plaine, Anthony G. (Shannon) Sexe of Hudson, WI, Edward A. (Kendra) Sexe of Topeka, KS, Peter L. (Michelle) Sexe of LeCenter; thirty four grandchildren; Chris (Nicole) Sexe, Michelle (Kevin) Spang, Mollie (Paul) Borman, Amber (Andy) Moravec, Melissa Sexe, Jeremy (Anna) Sexe, Tayt Sexe, Jayson (Rhonda) Roufs, Jenny (Brian) Hansen, Tony (Tressa) Sexe, Alison (Ross) Myers, Daniel Sexe, Heather Sexe, Kevin Sexe, Kaitlyn Sexe, Jon (Shannon) Sexe, Katie Sexe (Kevin Talbot), Benjamin C. (Kate) Sexe, Alexander Hage, Evelyn Hage, Samuel Hage, Ryan Sexe, Kristina Sexe, Cody Sexe, Benjamin W. Sexe, Dylan Sexe, Anthony Sexe, Maddie Letcher, Cammy Letcher, MacKenzie Sexe, Lucas Sexe, Nicole Lloyd, Lexy Busse, Brandon Busse; eighteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Violet Bauer, Virginia Sellner, Rosella Sexe, and Harriet Uhlhorn; many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert on November 25, 2002; two sisters; and one brother.
Evelyn will be dearly missed by her family.
