Joyce Carol Frey, age 71 of St. Peter, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Charles Christensen officiating. Visitation with the family will be an 9:30 until the time of the service at the church on Friday. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Joyce was born on December 24, 1936 in Fairmont, MN to Henry and Olga (Johnson) Cordes. She graduated from St. Peter High School and then attended the Northwest Institute of Medical Lab Technicians in Minneapolis. She married Harold William Frey on June 1, 1963 in St. Peter, MN. They later divorced. She worked at Lorretta Hospital in New Ulm before waitressing, which she did for 25 years. She then worked for ADC and Onan. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Frey and his wife Amy of St. Peter; two granddaughters, Abigail and Kathryn; many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Donald and Marlon Cordes.
