Myra E. Drenttel
Myra Elizabeth Drenttel, age 87 of St. Peter died, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday at St. Peter Funeral Home Klein Chapel with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Church of St. Peter.
Myra was born on December 16, 1920 to Fred and Catherine (Schmidt) Fischer in New Ulm, Minnesota. She attended school in New Ulm and was a 1938 graduate of Cathedral High School. She was united in marriage to Clifford J. Drenttel on September 3, 1942 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. She was a Selective Service Clerk for Nicollet County for 20 years until her retirement. She was an active member at St. Mary's Church in St. Peter where she sang in the choir among other duties. Most recently, Myra attended the Church of St. Peter. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing cards, especially Bridge and Pfeffer. She also especially enjoyed playing Pachisi with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Cliff (Maggie) Drenttel of Apple Valley, Bonnie (Don) Anderson of Puyallup, WA, and Ed (Sandy) Drenttel of Eagan; seven grandchildren, Paul, Jason, Katie, Kristi, Taylor, Jordan, and Mallory; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, and Corbin; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford in 2004, and one brother, Howard Fischer.
