LaVonne "Irish' Campbell (81) of St. Peter died Saturday, September 27th at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial service is 11:00 AM, Tuesday; October 7, 2008 at the Church of St. Peter with a visitation one hour prior to service. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
LaVonne was born August 17, 1927 in St. Clair, MN to Jerome J. and Grace M. (Biggins) Lynch. The family moved to Mankato where she attended St. Peter and Paul School and was a 1945 graduate of Good Council Academy, and for the next two years attended Mankato State University. In 1947 she married Curtis Knight in St. Peter and in 1952 they moved to Blue Earth, later residing in Alexandria and then to Brainerd. LaVonne married Richard Campbell and they resided in Minnetonka. She later moved to St. Peter where she held various jobs, for many years one was Senior Coordinator at the St. Peter Community Center retiring from this in the late 1990's
LaVonne's active life was blessed and filled with many wonderful long and lasting friends who never let her down.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Brenda Knight of Castle Rock, CO; 2 granddaughters, Alycia and Abby and 2 great grandchildren; Taylor and Dylann; 3 nephews, 1 niece, 6 great nieces and nephews and 4 great great nieces and nephews.
LaVonne is preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad Knight; brother and his wife, Donald and Zita Lynch.
