Carl Elmer Anderson, age 83 of St. Peter, MN passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2008 at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice, First Lutheran Church, or Grandview Good Samaritan Society.

Carl, a retired dairy farmer, was born on February 9, 1925 to Elmer and Lydia (Swenson) Anderson on the family farm in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County. He was baptized on March 6, 1925 and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 11, 1939 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter.

He attended school district 27 in Oshawa Township and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1943. On September 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to Mildred Lindstrand at the First Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN. After marriage they farmed in Oshawa Township until retirement in 1990. They continued to live on the farm until March 31, 2008 when they moved to St. Peter.

Carl was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in St. Peter where he served as an usher. He was a former member of the Nicollet County Farm Bureau, serving as Chairman of the Membership Committee for several years. He was the Clerk on the Oshawa Township board for six years. He loved to read and travel and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his wife, Mildred of 53 years. They were blessed with three sons, David and fianc" Sheila Barke of St. Peter, Dale and his wife Tracey of Yorktown, IN, and Jim and his wife Janet of Woodbury; five grandchildren, Austin and Morgan Anderson of Yorktown, IN, and Evan, Isaac, and Levi Anderson of Woodbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lydia Anderson.
