Mabel Fahning, age 98 of St. Peter, died on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with visitation from 9:00 am until the start of the service. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mabel Ella was born on March 25, 1915 at the family home on German Lake to Martin Julius and Bertha Quiram. She was united in marriage to Arthur Otto Edwin Fahning on October 21, 1936. She was a homemaker and raised 10 children. Mabels hobbies included birdwatching and her home canning to be enjoyed by her family and friends.
She is survived by daughters: Darlene (George) Poehler, Judy (Alfred) Fox and Debra (Roger) Johnson; sons: Donald (Karen), Rollin (Linda), Wayne (Sandra) and Rickie; 52 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughters Rita and Sandy; son Gary and several grandchildren.
