Alfred L. "Fred" Fox, age 68, of Saint Peter, died at home Saturday, May 24, with his wife and children by his side.
Memorial Services will be 11 am, Saturday, May 31 at Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 11. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Fred was born October 22, 1945, to Frank and Anne (Coyne) Fox in Washington DC. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1966 until 1972. On May 25, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Fahning.
Throughout his life he was employed by Dotson Company, Onan, Midwest Electric and LeSueur Incorporated. At the age of 59, Fred attended college and received a degree with high honors from SCTC. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, feeding and watching birds, and playing with his dogs, Teddy and Missy.
Fred fought a four year cancer battle with dignity and hardly a complaint. His determination to live far beyond his prognosis allowed him precious time with the family he so loved, growing a stronger bond with his grandsons and enabling him to meet two granddaughters. In his last week he completed his "bucket list" including a party to see friends and family. He will be remembered for his quick wit. His laughter and sense of humor was a gift to all.
Fred is survived by his sweetheart of 50 years, Judy; daughter, Tricia (Maya) Stearns; grandchildren, Jaspir and Sevita; son, Chad (Wendy) Fox; grandchildren, Zane and Eleanor; two brothers, Edward and Frank; aunt, Iona Bursaw; and cousins, Nina Meyer, Kris Evenson, and Signe Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; and infant twin daughters, Angela and Amy.
