Duane Gran

Duane H. Gran, age 68 of Norseland died on Monday, June 23, 2014 at his home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Norseland Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig Ferkenstad officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 " 8:00 pm Thursday at the church and will continue an hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Norseland Lutheran Church. St. Peter Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Duane Helmer was born on September 7, 1945 in St. Peter to Helmer and HazElle (Keenan) Gran. He was Baptized and Confirmed at Norseland Lutheran Church. He graduated from Nicollet High School in 1963. On April 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Marie C. Pengilly at the Lafayette Methodist Church. He spent his life farming and was recognized as FFA National Farmer in 1966. He was active in the church by serving on the board and was a member of the Norseland Community Preservation Association and Red Power Chapter 15.

Duane is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter Tamara (David) Stein; son David (Michele); grandchildren: Scott and Matthew Stein and Landon and James Gran; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rodney and Uncle Alfred.
