Laura Leigh Gens, age 47, of Cleveland, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at St. Peter Funeral Home with a 6:00 p.m. memorial service. Memorials are preferred to the family.
Laura was born June 1, 1961 in Staples, MN to Gerald and Evelyn (Fox) Harvey. On January 27, 1984, she was united in marriage to Dennis Gens. Laura loved fishing, gardening, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and working on her crafts. She was remarkable in a way that she could look at a picture and create it in her crafts. A friend of Laura's was a friend for life.
Laura is survived by her husband, Dennis of Cleveland; 2 daughters: Dawn Shequen of Motley and Nicole Gens of St. Peter; 1 son, Adam Gens of Cleveland; 2 sisters: Patti (James) Regan of Hemet, CA and Connie (Burt) Ontjes of Wachahatchie, TX; 3 brothers: Robert (Kathy) Harvey of Nikiski, AK, Randy (Becky) Harvey of Motley, and Timothy (Toni) Harvey of St. Paul Park, MN; Foster Mom, Gloria Cypher of Sartel; and grandmother, Hazel Fox of St. Paul Park; her dog, Pudge; and many nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and an infant sister.
