Marcella Galles, age 95 of Le Sueur and formerly of Cleveland and St. Peter, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Gardenview Nursing Home in Le Sueur.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Friday, October 24th at the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday at St. Peter Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.
Marcella was born on October 29, 1912 to Leo and Bernadine (Dauk) Hoehn in Blue Earth County, MN. She married Edward Galles on May 14, 1936. They farmed in Traverse Township until 1943. They then moved to Le Sueur County and farmed until retiring in 1971. In October of 1989 they moved to Cleveland.
Marcella worked in food service Gustavus Adolphus College for 13 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She also loved playing cards.
Marcella is survived by: daughter Susanne Sazevich of St. Paul; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother Linus (Helen) Hoehn of Janesville; and sister Harriette (Peter) Hartmann of Le Sueur.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1989, son David in 1987, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
