Norma Rapp, age 86 of St. Peter and formerly of Cleveland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Our Saviors' Lutheran Church in Cleveland with Pastor Shelly Olson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday at St. Peter Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
Norma was born on November 28, 1921 in St. Peter to Herman and Helma (Fischer) Schwichtenberg. On April 26, 1941 Norma was united in marriage to Russell Rapp in St. Peter. Norma worked at ADC and various other jobs. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cleveland. She loved bingo, crocheting, cards, traveling, fishing, crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan. Norma loved people, especially her extended family of residents and employees of the Benedictine Living Community.
Norma is survived by her children and grandchildren: Nancy (Jan) Vacura and Michael, Derek, and Andrea, Susan (Charlie) Sworski and Heather, J.P., and Holli, Jill (Chuck) Helling and Travis and Tim, Beth (Bill) Soderlund and Kinsey, Chuck, Emily, Mel, Steven, Dominic, Mary, Liam, Magnus, and Shelly (Mike) Miller and Craig, Scott, and Matt, and Gregory's daughter, Amber; 9 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Iris Franz, Muriel McCarty, Herman (Joan) Schwichtenberg, and Sandra (Kenny) Sorenson; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, son Gregory in 2003 and seven siblings.
