Martha F. Jaeger, age 74, passed away after a two year battle with cancer at the Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter on January 6, 2009.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 at The Church of St. Peter with Rev. Phil Schotzko and Rev. Syl Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service at the Church of St. Peter on Thursday, January 8, 2009 and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter.

Martha Frances was born September 25, 1934 to John and Laura (Tarpy) Weber in Mankato. She grew up in the Cleveland and Marysburg area. Martha was united in marriage to Jerome Jaeger on June 18, 1960 in St. Peter. They lived in various states such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, and South Dakota before settling in the St. Peter area in 1967. Martha and Jerome raised three children: Pat, Terry, and Laura. Martha worked as a telephone operator and later John Ireland School as a cook as well as Good Counsel, GAC, KFC in catering and St. Peter High School as a cashier. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Red Hat Group and served on the funeral committee for St. Peter's Catholic Church. Martha truly loved and appreciated the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as bowling, dancing, playing cards, attending high school basketball games, watching the Twins and Timberwolves, playing bingo and being lucky at the casinos. Martha had a special knack for playing the piano "by ear." She loved her Irish heritage and one of her most treasured memories was being crowned St. Patrick's Day Queen in 2001.

Grateful to have shared her life is her husband, Jerome of St. Peter; 2 sons: Pat (special friend, Brenda Hughes) Jaeger of Kasota and Terry (Kelly) Jaeger of St. Peter; daughter, Laura (Jeff) Davis of Norseland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amanda Jaeger and her girls, Sydney and MacKenzie, Scott (Amanda) Jaeger, Samantha (special friend, Jeremy Kohman) Jaeger, Tanner Jaeger, Haley Jaeger, Shelby Davis, and Dylan Davis; 1 sister, LaVerne (Norman) Stangler of Waterville; 12 brothers-in-law; 10 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Harriet (John) Jaeger, Viola (Don) O'Donnell, Margaretmary (Harold) Ploog; and 1 sister-in-law, Cheryl Jaeger.
