Helen Jane Salisbury Tillman, 93 of New Ulm, passed away in Sunday January 18, 2009 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. Peter Funeral Home with a visitation from noon until the start of the service. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.
Helen was born on December 16, 1915 in Mankato to Alfred Everett Salisbury II and Ida Marella (Fuller) Salisbury. She spent her formative years near Northwood IA and Mankato, graduating from Mankato High School. She attended Luther College in Decorah IA, Johnson Beauty Academy and Mankato Business School. Helen Jane was a charter member of Job's Daughters and a lifelong member if Eastern Star.
Helen Jane married Vincent James Tillman Sr. on June 22, 1940. They established the Tillman Bakery in New Ulm.
Survived by: daughter Alida (Gilbert) Werner of Benson MN; sons: Vincent "Tod" J. (Diane) Tillman Jr. of North Mankato and Tracy (Lisa) Tillman of Webberville MI; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alfred "Bud" Salisbury III.
