Franklin "Frank" Joseph Pehrson Jr., age 68, of St. Peter passed away suddenly on Monday, January 19, 2009 with his wife by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be at St. Nicholas (Middle Lake) Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Frank was born on December 31, 1940 in St. Peter to Franklin W., Sr. and Kathryn (Sear) Pehrson. He attended Lake Prairie Country School and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1960.
Franklin was united in marriage to Geraldine "Geri" Margaret Miller at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in rural St. Peter on June 19, 1962 and they established The Long-View-Holstein dairy farm. He was a lifetime, award winning dairy farmer, but in recent years sold the cattle and continued to farm the land. He was known for raising excellent dairy cattle and American Eskimo dogs. He recently took great interest in antiques and enjoyed working with his wife at St. Nick's Antiques. He enjoyed listening to his daughter sing, flower gardening, landscaping, going to flea markets and auctions to buy and sell antiques and attending cattle shows.
Frank is survived by his wife, Geri; daughter Christine Marie (David) Groebner of Madison Lake; brothers: twin Fred (Pat), Richard (Nancy), Wallace (Lauren), Gary (Sally), Jerry (Cindy), and Mark (Debbie); sisters: Deanna (Harold) Hoffmeister, Mary (Scott) Kreykes, and Cathy Giefer; brother-in-law Doyle Schneider; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Marilyn Schneider.
