Kathryn Muesing, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 31. She was born in St. Peter and raised and educated there. One of her favorite jobs was working in Gladys Thompson Dress shop. She did volunteer work at the Church of St. Peter. In 1963, she moved to Jacksonville, FL where she was employed at Riverside Hospital with her children finishing school there. She then returned to St. Peter in the 1990s and worked at Gustavus Adolphus College. Upon retirement she lived in Asheville, NC at various times before returning to St. Peter in 2007. She was known her whole adult live for delicious homemade cookies and apple pies.
She was predeceased by parents Leo and Emma Schabert, children Betty McGuire and James Muesing, and siblings, Frances and Ben Schabert. She is survived by a son, Bill Muesing of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren Shawn, Terry, Tim, Karen, Sharon, Jimmy, and Stephanie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
