Marie A. Seitzer, age 86 of St. Peter, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marie was born on January 9, 1923 to John and Theresa (Katzenberger) Polack in Dent, Minnesota. When Marie was sixteen she moved to St. Peter to work at her sister's restaurant where she met James Seitzer. The couple was united in marriage on February 6, 1940. Marie was active within the St. Peter Community through her employment at ADC, various restaurants, cashier at Red Owl and No Frills and finally retiring at age 75. Her greatest achievement was her love and nurturing relationship she had for her husband, nine children, and family members. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter Catholic Church and she enjoyed such things as shopping, traveling, cooking and baking, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Seitzer of St. Peter; children, Robert (Marianne) Seitzer of Overland Park, KS, Dennis R. (Mari) Seitzer of Montgomery, TX, Kathleen (Michael) Bloom of Lake Washington, Mary Sue (John) Simota of Montgomery, MN, James (Belinda) Seitzer Jr. of Burnsville, Donald (Kimberly) Seitzer of Silverthorne, CO, and Julianne M. (Donald) McNeil of Burnsville; special appreciation to Tina Bauer, granddaughter of Des Moines, IA; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Volinski of Sauk Rapids; sister-in-law, Marian Boys of St. Peter; son-in-law, John "Marty" O'Malley of Albequerque, NM; daughter-in-law, Rose Baumgarten of Ankeny, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia O'Malley; son, Michael P. Seitzer; and five siblings.
