Yvette Mary Wenner, age 47, of St. Peter, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 14, 2009. She had courageously battled brain cancer for nearly three years.

The visitation will be held at the Church of St. Peter, 1801 West Broadway, St. Peter, from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, February 17. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St Peter at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery. St. Peter funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Yvette was born in Mankato to Ernfrit "Ernie" and Margaret Anne "Maggie" Menk on May 21, 1961. She attended John Ireland during her grade school years and later graduated from St Peter High School in 1979. She also attended Mankato State University and received an Associate degree as a medical secretary in 1981.

She married Bradley Wenner at St Mary's Catholic Church in St Peter on June 5, 1982. The couple was blessed with two children, David and Sarah. The couple resided in Traverse Township where they farmed for the past 27 years.

Yvette worked for the Diagnostic Center in Mankato for several years as a medical secretary, and then for Taylor Corporation in North Mankato for 23 years before her retirement in 2006. Yvette's favorite occupation was being a wife and mother for 27 years.

She was a member of the Church of St Peter where she served as secretary of the Catholic Aid Association for many years. She was also active in the Nicollet County American Cancer Society and captained a team in the Relay for Life event for several years named Betsy's Believers.

Yvette enjoyed cards, bingo, Sudoku, tennis, volleyball, and bowling. She also loved family events and vacations. Yvette was never more happy than when she was surrounded by her family. Yvette is survived by her husband Bradley, son David (fianc" Lasa Rueth) of Madison, WI, daughter Sarah of Mankato, sister Yvonne Splettstoeser of Savage, MN, brothers Keith Menk (Karin) of Sublimity, OR, Kevin Menk of St Peter, Kurt Menk of Arlington, MN, uncles Harvey Menk of Mankato and John Cronin of Franklin, MN, and aunts Edna Swenson and Lois Menk of St Peter, Hope Menk of Janesville, and fifteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernfrit and Margaret (Cronin) Menk of St Peter, brother-in-law Mark Splettstoeser of Savage, MN, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
