Danny Burg, age 57, of St. Peter, died on Monday, February 16, 2009 at his home.

Dan was born on March 22, 1951 in St. Peter to Maurice and Rose Marie (Furst) Burg. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1969. Dan started working with Nicollet County while in high school and ended his career as a foreman for Southern MN Construction when he retired in 2006. He won several state and national safety awards while at SMC. If you are driving on a nice road in southern Minnesota, you can thank Dan Burg and his crew. Dan was united in marriage to Lou Anne Elliott on January 25, 2003 in St. Peter. Danny always enjoyed sports and played baseball, football, and basketball throughout high school. He continued playing and managing St. Peter baseball for years, playing on the 1973 state team. Dan loved hunting, fishing, golfing. He loved all sports. His many friends said his golf game was marginal at best. He was an avid duck hunter and his hunting buddies said that his shooting skills were far superior to his duck calling prowess.
Dan is survived by his wife, Lou Anne; mother, Rosie Burg; sister, Connie Strand; brother, Chris Burg and Carrie Hall; sister-in-law, Laura (Keith) DeVlaeminck; brother-in-law, Berrisford Elliott; nieces, Sarah Strand, Kelsie (Bob) Peters, and Abby DeVlaeminck and fianc" Lance Wilson; nephews, Dominic Burg and Raney Elliott; great nephew, Henry Peters; princess diva dog, Sadie; and many good friends. He is preceded in death by his father and infant sister, Monica.
