Carl Wilhelm Moline, age 90 of St. Peter, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
Funeral service will he held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland with Rev. Jerry Lanes officiating. Burial will be at the Scandian Grove Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Scandian Grove Lutheran Church or Grandview Nursing Home. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carl Wilhelm Moline was born on August 10, 1919 to John and Agda (Wilson) in St. Peter. He was baptized and confirmed at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member. He served on the church council, cemetery board and the building committee. He married Mary Ashby in April of 1980 and was the first member to be married in the new church.
Carl farmed in the Lake Prairie and Traverse Townships until retiring in 1985. They continued to live on the farm until 1992 when they moved to Realife in St. Peter. He served on the Executive Board and several committees at Realife. He was active at the Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed playing cards, visiting and traveling.
Carl is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Gertrude (Dwaine) Hodnefield of Lakefield; step-sons: Bill Ashby of Clermont, IA, and Mick Ashby of Ankeny, IA; three granddaughters, Kim (Steve) Woods of Marion, IA, Alecia Ashby of Los Angeles, CA, and Amy Ashby of Ankeny, IA; one great-granddaughter, Melanie Kemmann of Cedar Rapids, IA; two great-grandsons, Ben and Tyler Woods; nephew Merlyn (Donna) Hodnefield of Lakefield and niece Laurie (Ray) Lehmkuhl of South Dakota; and special friends, Joe and Donna Pankratz of Traverse .
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Janie Ashby; grandson, Rob Ashby; great-grandchildren, Brian Woods and Aidan Ashby-English.
