Dorothy Genevieve Seitzer, age 86 of St. Peter, passed away on September 14, 2009 at her home.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Church of St. Peter with Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy was born on March 3, 1923 to Benjamin and Effie (Lindgren) Peterson in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated in 1941 from Wilson High School. She went on to attend Francis Nystrom Cosmetology School. During WWII Dorothy worked in the ammunition plant where she made primers for bullets. She then went on to work at the International Harvester plant which converted over to make parts for half tracks until the war ended in 1945. She was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Seitzer on April 10, 1948 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in St. Paul. Fr. Roufs officiated the ceremony. They made their home in St. Peter where her husband Dick owned and operated H.B. Seitzer Ford. Dorothy was employed at Seitzer Implement for many years, working alongside her brother-in-law Mark Seitzer. Dorothy was a member of the Church of St. Peter where she was active with the funeral committee. She enjoyed the winters in Mesa, AZ and the summers in Walker, MN. She enjoyed cards, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Gregory Seitzer and wife Jan; daughter, Jacalyn Wettergren and husband Mark; five grandchildren, Jill Dollor and husband Dusty, Andy Seitzer and special friend Dana, Ryan Wettergren and fianc" Cathy, Ann Wettergren Long and husband Russell, and Abby Greco and husband, Jeff; eight great-grandchildren, Addy and Ava Dollor, Micah, Aria, and Hannah Seitzer, Chase, Henna, and Hayes Long; brother-in-law, Mark Seitzer; sister-in-law, Marlyn Miller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dick in 1998.
