Carol L. Langsjoen, age 89 of St. Peter, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Grandview Good Samaritan Society in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday September 20, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Alan Bray officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Memorials preferred to First Lutheran Church, Gustavus Adolphus College (The Arne/Carol Langsjoen Chemistry Endowment) or Grandview Good Samaritan Society. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carol Lorraine Gaustad was born on August 20, 1920, in Eau Claire WI to Leif and Selma (Peterson)Gaustad. She is a graduate of St. James High School and received her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter in English and Business Administration. After graduating in 1942, she briefly taught high school.

On August 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Arne Langsjoen. They lived a short time in Iowa before settling in St. Peter in 1948. They continued to live in St. Peter where Carol was a homemaker and raised her family. Carol was a member of First Lutheran Church, and P.E.O. She enjoyed rosemaling, quilting, embroidery and traveling.

Carol is survived by her husband Arne of St. Peter; children: Karen (Eugene) Zins of Nicollet and Peter (Cheryl) Langsjoen of St. Louis Park, and daughter-in-law Gail Langsjoen of Mankato; grandchildren: John Zins of Thief River Falls, Rebecca Zins (Jeff Mueller) of Eagan, Kent Langsjoen of Roseville, Kirk Langsjoen of Minneapolis, and from Mankato: Zellah, Sam, David, Anna, Phillip, Jeremiah, and Dinah Langsjoen; great grandchildren: Christopher Menton,Joshua, Jonah and Ezra Zins Moeller of Eagan, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Thor, and sister, Lois.
