Florence H. Rich, age 93 of St. Peter, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Family services will he held at a later date. Saint Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Florence Harriet Hanson was born March 8, 1916 in Danielson Township, Meeker County, Minnesota to Henry E. and Selma (Spurr) Hanson. She grew up in the rural Litchfield area and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She worked for Audio Development Co. in Minneapolis and Data Control in Minneapolis and Arizona. She was married to Gordon W. Swanson and to this union a daughter, Janet, was born. Gordon died of polio in France during WWII. She later married Robert Rich.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Kermit Swanson of St. Peter; one grandson, Richard (Laura) Swanson and great-grandchildren Marit and Sydney Swanson of Columbus OH; one granddaughter, Heather Swanson and fianc" Anthony Gelhar of St. Paul; and nieces and nephews.
Her husbands, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
