Clement "Clem" Leo Ballman, age 84, lifetime resident of Cleveland, died Wednesday, Decmber 16, 2009 surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 19th at 1:00 pm at Church of the Nativity in Cleveland. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7 at Church of the Nativity in Cleveland. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
Clem was born on March 30, 1925 in Cleveland to Louis and Mary (Rezac) Ballman. He attended Cleveland Public School, before devoting 70 years of his life to dairy farming. On May 28, 1946 Clem was united in marriage to Mary Lou Maxfield. They met while roller skating in Mankato. Clem was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland. He enjoyed antiquing, playing cards, fishing, gardening and most of all, spending time with his large family.
Clem is survived by Mary Lou, his loving wife of 63 years, and their children: Allan, Ricky (Margaret), Larry (Kathy), Brad (Cecilia), Greg (Karen), Jan (Michael) Campe, Steve, Mark (Barb), Randy (Laurel), Melissa (Dean) Soltis, and Paul (Carla); 33 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and sister, Angeline Stauff.
Clem was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eleanor and grandson Adam.
