Ronald "Rudy" J. Sellner, 65 of Kasota, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato with his family at his side.

A visitation to celebrate his life will be from 4-8 pm on Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel with a 6:30 pm prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter

Ronald was born on February 19, 1944 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Rudolph and Lucille Sellner. After graduating from Sleepy Eye High School, Ron worked as a carpenter all his life; the last 15 years with R. J. Carlstrom.

Ron found enjoyment in doing things for his family. He took great pride in the homestead he built with the help of his family and friends. He was an animal and nature lover. He enjoyed raising sheep, feeding the birds and deer, spending time in the woods with his John Deere lawn mower and tractor, growing berries for his homemade wine, dining out with friends and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Helget) of 44 years; 3 children: Randy (Beth) Sellner of Mankato, Rhonda (Jim) Greshowak of Inver Grove Heights and Robyn (special friend Jerry) of St. Peter; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; mother, Lucille Sellner of Sleepy Eye; sister, Joan (Don) Richert of Springfield; brothers: Jim (Val) of Sleepy Eye and Dennis (Elaine) of Wells; and sister-in-law Judy Sellner of Sleepy Eye.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rudy and brother, Chuck.
