Donald O. Webster, age 78 of rural St. Peter, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, Norseland. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 7:00 pm on Friday at the church and also one hour prior to the service Saturday. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice. St. Peter Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Don was born on February 1, 1934 to Ora R.B. and Pearl D. (Brenke) Webster. He was the 5th generation on the family farm and is a 1952 graduate of St. Peter High School. In 1954, he was united in marriage to Laurella "Laurie" Nelson. He then served two years during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. They made their home in rural St. Peter on the family farm outside Norseland. While farming, he also worked for 32 years at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center. Don was a lifelong member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church and also had membership with the St. Peter VFW and American Legion, the Farm Bureau and Norseland 4-H as a member and softball coach. He enjoyed square dancing and spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laurie; sons: Gregg (Monica) and their children Ashley and Rachel of Hillsboro ND and stepson Chris and his children of Cokato, Scott (Holly) and their children Kelsea, Nolan and Griffin of Northfield, and Blake (Alena) and their son Kevin (Lori), and great-grandchildren Rowan and Caleb of St. Peter; brothers-in-law: Harvey Nelson and Norman (Kathy) Nelson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Webster.
