Ila Mae Vogel, age 80, of St. Peter, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Grandview Good Samaritan in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Paul Catholic Church in Nicollet with Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22 from 4-7 p.m. at the St. Peter Funeral Home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
Ila was born on January 14, 1933 in Mankato to Hayden and Esta (Ellis) Spencer. She grew up in Eagle Lake and graduated from St. Clair High School. On December 24, 1954, Ila was united in marriage to Robert Vogel in Mankato. She worked for Stanley Home Products for many years. Ila enjoyed traveling and spent the last 15 years in Weslaco, TX during the winter. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ila is survived by her husband, Robert of St. Peter; two sons, Neal (Sally) of St. Peter and Michael (Nancy) of St. Peter; daughter, Judy (Paul) Williams of Shakopee; grandchildren, Mindy and Gretchen Vogel of St. Peter, Ryan (Megan) Selly of North Mankato, and Tiffany (Brian) Schmidt of Le Center; great-grandchildren, Jalyn, Liana, and Nolan Selly; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alma Kulack.
