Scott Dean Hinden, age 45 of St. Peter, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Scott Dean Hinden was born June 29, 1967 to Larry and Donna (Sorby) Hinden in St. Peter. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter. In 1985, Scott graduated from St. Peter High School where he was on the wrestling team and enjoyed automotive classes. On September 21, 1985, Scott was united in marriage to Kari Holtz. They were blessed with three children: Natasha, Jonathan and Allison. They later divorced. Scott was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, The 49ers and Ducks Unlimited. Scott spent his career as a heavy equipment operator working for several construction companies, most recently for SMC Compost. He enjoyed deer hunting trips up north, fishing, NASCAR and demolition derby. His most recent hobbies included flying his remote control helicopter, putting together models and helping family and friends with their car repairs. Scott especially loved spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Abby.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children: Natasha (Mark) Bietz of Woodbury, Jonathan Hinden of St. Peter and Allison Hinden of St. Peter; his parents: Larry and Donna of St. Peter; sister, Lori (Tom) Hager of St. Peter; nieces: Samantha (Pat) Anderley of St. Peter and Chelsey (fianc" Cam Woolsey) Hager of Eau Claire, WI; nephew: Spencer Hager of Eau Claire, WI; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents: Edgar and Amanda Hinden and Selmer and Irene Sorby; uncles: Edward Miller, John Schmit, Ronald Sorby and Leslie Hinden; cousins: William Schultz; and special cousin, Tate Miller.
